1. October TBR
My TBR for October consists of: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, Frankenstien by Mary Shelley, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death by Martyn Waites, The Tinder Box by Hans Christian Anderson and The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. (I ended up returning Woman in Black: Angel of Death)
2. Book That Kept You Up At Night
I can’t say I have read any super scary books that have kept me awake. However I have read a few books that I couldn’t put down and I just had to finish Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
3. Favourite Villain
My favourite villain is Cersei Lannister from the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. She is sneaky, intelligent and Lena Headey portrays her amazingly.
4. Book and Fall Outfit
My got to Fall outfit is a cosy cable knit sweater and my red tartan scarf with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
5. Book and Leaves
Dirty Pretty Things by Michael Faudet is an amazing book of poetry and I would happily read this in a pile of leaves with a tasty beverage from Starbucks.
6. Where You Read (image not mine)
I will read curled up on the sofa or most likely in my bed, buried under blankets and surrounded by pillows.
7. Favourite Haunted/Ghost Read (image not mine)
By far Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is my favourite ghost read! It really is hauntingly beautiful!
8. Book and Fall Candle
The Night is Darkening Around Me by Emily Bronte with a ‘Pantry Spice’ scented candle from Yankee Candles
9. Favourite Fall Weather Book
I love a Chick Lit type read when the weather is raining, something easy to read that I can snuggle down with and enjoy so I picked Stately Pursits by Katie Fforde as it is one of my favourites.
10. Book and Hot Beverage
Lullabies and Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav, cosy socks and a warm cup of tea! #socksunday
11. What’s in Your Bag?
Purse, Keys, Cowshed Hand Cream, EOS Lip Balm, Glasses, LA Splash Lip Product and a Book.
12. Book and Fall Activity
My favourite fall activities include walking in the golden leaves and curling up in front of the fire with a warming cup of hot chocolate and a good book like The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
13. Book that Gave you the Creeps
I don’t really read ‘horror’ novels but The Magic Toyshop by Angela Carter gives me the creeps it has some really strange and creepy moments.
14. Book and Boots
I am in love with my new slouch cowboy boots from Dorothy Perkins! Which work perfectly with my copy of Just Kids by Patti Smith. My favourite quote from this book is ‘He looked at me, my cowboy with Indian ways. “You know those dreams you had for me, weren’t my dreams,” he said. “Maybe those dreams were mean’t for you”
15. Vintage Book(s)
I don’t own any vintage books but I do have this beautiful Vintage Classics edition of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee in a vintage frame.
16. Recommendation Friday
I would definitely recommend The Saga Graphic Novel Series by Brian K Vaughn and Fiona Staples. The plot is so good, I am a big fan of the intertwining story lines and the art style is amazingly beautiful.
17. Villain you wouldn’t want to meet
I wouldn’t like to meet The Other Mother from Coraline by Neil Gaiman. I like my eyes just the way they are no buttons required.

These muffins are so tasty!! So much toffee! BB Muffin’s Halloween Muffins and A Storm of Swords: Part 2 Blood and Gold by George RR Martin.
20. Favourite Mystery
There are so many mysteries in this book! It isn’t a traditional who done it, but it is exciting! Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
21. Book and Fall/Halloween Decor
Pumpkins, cobwebs, spiders and candles! spooky halloween decor and zombie novels like Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.
22. Favourite Classic Scary Book
Gothic Fiction. I haven’t read to many classic scary books but I love a good gothic novel. Dracula by Bram Stoker, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe
23. Favourite Current Scary Book
Anything by Stephen King! I am a massive Stephen King fan and Carrie is one of my favourite novels and films.
24. Black and Orange Books
I was surprised by how many books I had with orange and black on the cover, How to Love by Katie Cotugno, City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, A Storm of Swords: Part 2: Blood and Gold by George RR Martin, The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, he Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherine M. Valente, Divergent by Veronica Roth and The Gates by John Connolly.
25. Book and Pumpkin
This is my first ever pumpkin!!! The Book I chose was The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton.
26. Book and Halloween Tradition
Every year I sit down and watch Hocus Pocus. It is by far one of my favourite Halloween movies.
27. Favourite Halloween/Scary Movie
I LOVE 80’s horror films. The original slasher films such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th and The Lost Boys.
28. Book and Candy
I didn’t have any real candy – I hadn’t gone to the store yet – So I decorated Cinder by Marissa Meyer with Sugar Skulls.
29. Favourite October Read
By far my favourite read this month was Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I am so excited to get my hands on the rest of this series. Check out my review here.
30. October Book Haul
I purchased this beautiful copy of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, Dracula by Bram Stoker, Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherine M. Valente.
31. October Wrap Up
I had a bit of a reading slump at the end of the month but I did read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe and The Tinder Box by Hans Christian Anderson.
