Films I want to see in 2016

There are some amazing movies coming out in 2016 and as I don’t tend to go to the cinema to be honest I think it is a bit of a rip off in ticket prices. I don’t know if I will see all of these films this year but I definitly think I will be making a couple of trips to the cinema this year. I would like to point out that all the release dates on this post are the UK release dates and US or other country release dates will be available to you on IMDB.

Universal Pictures

Pride, Prejudice and Zombies – Feb 11th

This film is based on the novel of the same name by Jane Austen and Seth Graham-Smith. Did you ever wonder what Pride and Prejudice would be like if Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters were trying to find husbands while being bad ass knife weilding Zombie killers? Well this film will show you.

How To Be Single – Feb 19th

This film has Rebel Wilson in it and according to the trailer she is just as awesome as Fat Amy. This is based of the novel of the same name written by Liz Tuccilo. A fun romantic comedy where Alice, Robin, Lucy, Meg, Tom and David need to learn how to be single in a world filled with ever-evolving definitions of love.

Captain America: Civil War – April 29th

This is the third movie in the Captain America franchise and it is star studded. We see the return of Steve’s childhood friend Bucky, Scar Jo is back as Black Widow and RDJ is of course Iron Man. We also have apperances from Sam Wilson aka Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Spider-Man and Black Panther (and a few others I am sure). In this instalment politcal interference within The Avengers causes friction between former allies Captain America and Iron Man. Will this rift tear them apart?

Alice Through The Looking Glass – May 27th

In the second instalment of Tim Burton’s foray into the world of Underland Alice needs to travel through time to save the Hatter. It’s not nice to neglect your friends Alice. When Alice has come home from sailing the high seas she finds a magic looking glass that takes her back to her friends. But the Hatter has lost his muchness so Alice needs save him before Underland is lost. This is Alan Rickman’s last role as Abolesom the Caterpillar so this is a must see for me.

Me Before You – June 3rd

This is the third book based on a novel on this list. It seems that their are a lot of books being turned into movies lately. This film is staring Game of Thrones Emilia Clarke and Charles Dance, The Hunger Games Sam Caflin and Harry Potter’s Matthew Lewis. A wealthy man from London is paralysed in a car accident. A young woman from a small town is hired to be his caregiver and the pair form and unlikely bond.

Suicide Squad – August 5th

Who is excited to see this? I have been waiting for this for ages! It has so many amazing actors and the face that it is comic books are all big ticks in my box. Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn, Jared Leto is The Joker I mean thats just fine by me. I am not sure about Cara Delevigne but I will live with it to see this film. Suicide Squad is DC’s the next comic book universe offering. This film shows a group of supervillans hired by a secret government agency run by the wonderful Viola Davis who go on dangerous black ops mission for clemency.

Star Trek Beyond – July 22

Anyone who knows me knows I love the Star Trek films. According to Wiki this is the film premise “The USS Enterprise crew, led by Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), have been attacked by a powerful unstoppable wave of unknown aliens, who destroy the Enterprise, leaving them stranded on a new planet where they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy, while finding a way to get off the planet.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – Nov 18th

OMG ANOTHER HARRY POTTER FILM!!!!!! I am so excited for this film to come out you have no idea. I legit can not wait for the end of the year to go and see this. I love that this is set in New York as I am excited to the magical world from a new perspective. This is set seventy years before Harry and his friends read Newt Scamander’s books in Care of Magical Creatures. The first film in a trilogy that was written by J.K Rowling herself, revolves around Newt Scamander’s arrival at the Magical Congress of the United States of America, for a meeting with an important official. Central to the story and this meeting is a magically expanded briefcase which houses a number of dangerous creatures and their habitats. When the creatures escape from the briefcase, it sends the American wizarding authorities after Newt, and it threatens even further the state of magical and non-magical relations, which is already in a dangerous place, due to the threatening presence of the fanatical New Salem Philanthropic Society, an extremist organization dedicated to the eradication of wizard-kind. The story tells of what effect this devastating mistake has on the state of wizard/No-Maj (the American term for a non-magical person) relations in New York City’s community of wizards and witches in 1926, the effort to correct the mistake, and the horrors of the resultant increase in violence, fear, and tension felt between magical and non-magical peoples.

P.S copied the synopsis from Wiki.
